Clapham Fringe

A yearly Performing Arts Festival in South London, running since 2015 at The Bread & Roses Theatre.

Now in its sixth year, the Clapham Fringe is a Performing Arts Festival taking place at The Bread & Roses Theatre from 22 September - 10 October 2021. With 33 different productions and 50 performances across three weeks, Clapham Fringe is thrilled to return with a variety of shows including theatre, devise work, comedy, cabaret and family & childrens show.

Venezia Spearpoint, Artistic Director of the Bread and Roses Theatre said "We are acutely aware of the challenges faced by theatre-makers and audiences alike from the last 18 months, therefore this year's Festival focuses on offering a kind and vibrant return to live performances. We have further reduced any upfront fees, sharing the risk with theatre-makers to present high-quality and exciting new work, with tickets starting as little as £3."

The Bread & Roses Theatre is an innovative and award-winning fringe pub theatre, located upstairs at the Bread & Roses Pub in Clapham. Equality, diversity and artistic quality are at the forefront of the theatre's programming. Throughout the pandemic, the theatre has continued to support emerging artists and practitioners through the Emerging Company Award, Emerging Director & Producers scheme and overcoming challenges to present the 19/20 Bread and Roses Playwriting Award Winner play I and the Village as soon as theatres were able to reopen in May 2021. The Clapham Fringe is run by The Bread and Roses Theatre founders Rebecca Pryle and Tessa Hart, the theatre's Artistic Director Velenzia Spearpoint and Associate Producer Natalie Chan.
