MBARE on Clapham High Street to reopen in new site nearer to Clapham Common

After MBARE on Clapham High Street closed back in January, the much loved Italian restaurant made a promise to its loyal, local patrons: "We will be back. 2021, we're ready when you are!"

MBARE has kept its promise and proven the old adage true: when one door closes another really can swing open – sometimes, surprisingly close to home.

Clapham Nub News is delighted to announce MBARE is relocating to a new site on Clapham High Street next to Bodean's, just slightly nearer Clapham Common than where the restaurant was previously located.

If you have ever wondered what the story behind the restaurant's name is, now is the perfect time to know. 'Mbare' in Sicilian dialect is an informal way to say hello to a friend, or to quickly make friends with a stranger.

With refurbishments underway, MBARE's co-founders Cosimo Fenocchi and Gero Argento look forward to saying "Mbare" to visitors both old and new very soon.

Meanwhile, we can't wait to eat the incredible menu in their exciting new surroundings. See you there!
