Clapham will be hit with a mini-heatwave this weekend, according to the latest Met Office forecast.

Residents will wake up to balmy weather on Friday morning and the heat will only keep rising, with highs of 30 degrees Celsius forecast on Sunday 18.

The Met Office states there will be "large amounts of strong sunshine" through to this evening which will be "warm, dry and sunny."

They added: "Light onshore breezes will keep coastal areas cooler. Maximum temperature 28 °C."

In its outlook for Saturday to Tuesday, the Office stated: "Dry with plenty of strong sunshine, and feeling very warm inland, with light winds.

"Sunday dry, sunny and locally hot. Monday and Tuesday very warm with sunny periods and perhaps isolated heavy afternoon showers."
