Parkrun returns to Clapham Common this weekend

Parkrun returns to Clapham Common on Saturday (July 24), a year and a half after the popular community event was indefinitely postponed on account of Covid-19.

The free 5km run was a staple Saturday morning event for thousands of people, both in the UK and abroad.

Its return to Clapham follows those now back up and running in Poland, Denmark, Scotland and France.

Organised and managed by volunteers, regulars to Clapham Common parkrun will remember its relaxed, inclusive atmosphere.

With such a long hiatus since the last event, everyone there will be a newbie of sorts – even the regulars at Marathon des Sables. For anyone keen to take up running but nervous about how to, the first post-Covid parkrun is sure to be a good place to start.
