Two ex-Clapham residents bring their show TENDER MERCIES to the Clapham Fringe
Colette Cullen, the writer, and Wendy Fisher, the performer, of the Clapham Fringe show TENDER MERCIES are both ex-residents of Clapham.
They recently discovered that they'd lived a stones throw from each other and from The Bread and Roses Theatre where TENDER MERCIES will be staged on October 1st & 2nd at 1pm as part of the Clapham Fringe.
Inspired by a news headline in a local paper TENDER MERCIES is the story behind 'the woman who lay dead in her home for a year' before being discovered by her twin brother.
Unfortunately headlines like this are not uncommon. The recent inquest into the death of Peckham resident Sheila Seleoane revealed that on the basis of a half-eaten dessert in her fridge, the police concluded that she'd been dead for two and a half years before being discovered in her flat.
Theatre-goers may recognise Wendy from her recent appearance in the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon where she played a midwife. Wendy was a midwife in real life until she retired and took up acting. She lived in Clapham as a student nurse and now she's back in her second career as a performer all these years later.
