Dispersal zone authorised in Clapham Town
A dispersal zone is in place in Clapham Town following anti-social behaviour in the area.
The order includes Clapham High Street, Clapham Common tube station and Clapham Old Town, and began around 1:30pm today (Thursday, February 17).
It is used to protect members of the public from being harassed or when there is a high risk of crime or disorder
Until the dispersal zone expires at 1:30pm on Saturday, it is an offence to stay in the area outlined if directed to leave it by a police officer.
Two dispersal zones were authorised for parts of Clapham in January to tackle large gatherings of school children causing anti-social behaviour.
A spokesperson for Clapham Town Police wrote on Twitter: "There is currently dispersal zone in place targeting Anti-Social Behaviour in Clapham Town.
"Those who are dispersed must not return to the area within 48 hours."
Clapham Town Police has been contacted for further information.
