Chipotle to open in Clapham

The American fast-food chain Chipotle is to open a restaurant in Clapham this summer, having taken over the former GBK site on Northcote Road.

Having made its UK debut in 2010 with a site on Charing Cross Road, Chipotle has more recently been expanding into "villages" across the capital.

Chipotle's upcoming launch on Northcote Road will coincide with post-pandemic re-openings of favourite local restaurants, and the re-starting of much loved events like BabaBoom's Kebab Chase.

Secured for Chipotle by London estate agent Davis Coffer Lyons, its Executive Director, Paul Tallentyre said the Northcote Road site received substantial interest.

"We generated 11 offers from 20 viewings in a 48 hour period from our client getting back possession of the site.

"We are seeing huge demand from many operators, as the dark clouds of the past year start to clear. We are extremely positive about the leisure sector moving forward."
