Clapham: Covid cases fall by 20% in Wandsworth and more than 30% in Lambeth

Covid-19 cases have fallen by 20 per cent in Wandsworth and more than 30 per cent in Lambeth compared to the previous seven days, reveals official data published yesterday (Thursday, January 13).

Some 565 people in Wandsworth tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, bringing the total number of people infected in the borough for the seven days to January 13 to 4,424 – down 20% on the previous seven days.

In Lambeth, across which Clapham spreads, there were 491 people who tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, decreasing the total number of people infected in the borough for the seven days to January 13 by 30.4% to 4,081.

Clapham's boroughs both have Covid rates below the national rate, at 1,224.9 cases per 100,000 people in Lambeth and 1349.5 in Wandsworth. The current Covid rate in England is 1,600. In London, it is 1,526.5.

Vaccinations in Wandsworth

251,807 people in Wandsworth have received a first dose, making up 69% of the borough. 233,521 people in Wandsworth have received a second dose (64%), and 165,535 people have received a third dose (45.4%)

Vaccinations in Lambeth

237,671 people in Lambeth have received a first dose, making up 65.6% of the borough.

218,495 people in Lambeth have received a second dose (60.3%), and 148, 413 people have received a third dose (40.9%)
