Clapham East police has secured a closure order at a property to protect a vulnerable resident at risk of exploitation.

The local police team sought a three month closure order at a Magistrates' Court yesterday (March 1) having first served an interim closure at the property on Clapham Park Road.

A spokesperson for Clapham East police said yesterday: "An interim closure order has been served today for a property on the ward which has links to anti social behaviour and to safeguard a vulnerable resident, officers will be at court tomorrow seeking a 3 month closure order."

Closure powers permit a local authority or police to close premises which are being used to commit anti-social or criminal behaviour.

The closure order Clapham East police confirmed today (March 2) is now in place prevents anyone other than the current occupant and named individuals from entering the property.

In a tweet today, a spokesperson said: "Update - We've secured a 3 month closure order at a home on Clapham Park Road to help protect a vulnerable person living there from being exploited. The order prevents anyone other than the current occupant and named individuals from entering the property."
