The Rose & Crown puts haggis, neeps & tatties, shortbread and scotch centre-stage for Clapham in its special Burns Night menu.

A pub in Clapham Old Town has put a tartan tilt on its specials menu next week in celebration of of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.

The Rose & Crown today (Tuesday, January 17) unveiled dishes and cocktails it will serve on Burns Night.

Scots residing in Clapham will recognise Burns Supper classics, given a south-of-the-border twist.

Soup, the traditional Burns Night starter course, will be Cream of neeps & tatties served with toasted pumpkin seeds and herb oil.

"Address to a Haggis" can be recited to one of two main course options. A Haggis croquette will with bone marrow mash & beetroot puree form the supporting act to a Highland Venison haunch steak. Alternatively, opt for the Chicken Balmoral Pie (Chicken, Bacon and Haggis Pie - in a cream, peppercorn & single malt source).

To accompany the menu - and perfect for washing down Buttery Scottish shortbread for pudding - the Rose & Crown will mix two Burns Night tipples: The Flying Scotsman (Single malt, sweet vermouth, sugar syrup, bitters, lemon twist) and Scotch Toddy (Scotch, honey, cinnamon, lemon).

Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options will be available from the main menu as usual.
