Two traders return to Venn Street Market this weekend

Visit Venn Street Market with an appetite this Saturday and you'll be spoilt for choice on how to sate it – spoilt even more than usual, that is.

Alongside your trusted weekly traders will be two you wouldn't have seen last week and won't want to miss out on visiting tomorrow.

Natural Born Wine

Founded as a stall at a farmer's market well before people paid much mind to natural wine, since 2016 this 'little market stall' has grown into one of the UK's leading importers of Italian natural wine.

Before you buy wines from the Natural Born Wine website, head to Venn Street Market and drink in a wealth of natural wine knowledge from its two founders Oli and Sam. They'll tell you the origins of each bottle, the small-scale – often family-run – producers who made them and the environmental, ethical and holistic choices made in their wine's creation.

Enjoy a glass while at the market or buy a bottle for a dinner party and regale all your new-found knowledge of natural wine.

Hazel's Crèmerie

The food she made her Great Grandson Josh was "like a hug when you needed it or the reward at the end of a long journey". When she wasn't cooking, she was either gardening at the allotment she got after the Second World War, or she was thinking about food.

Meet Hazel. Cook and sweet tooth extraordinaire, in later life she would sadly be diagnosed with Dementia. But for Josh Sutton, the memory of his Great Gran's Sunday Roasts and home-made ice cream along with the foundations of great cooking and baking she taught him would prove to fuel the launch of local bakery delivery service Hazel's Crèmerie.

With Josh's background as a Patisserie Chef and his business partner Nina Calvert having been similarly brought up surrounded by brilliant cooks, it's hardly surprising that through Hazel's Crèmerie, this duo found its speciality creating (to perfection) life's ultimate nostalgia-trip sweet treat: The Ice Cream Sandwich.

Head to Venn Street Market tomorrow (Saturday September 11) between 10.00 am and 3.00pm to try and pick just one flavour from a selection including Strawberry, clotted cream & shortbread; Brownie & salted caramel; Peanut butter & caramelised shortbread; Milk chocolate & cereal milk and for our plant-based friends, Vegan chocolate & pistachio.
