Royal Trinity Hospice will host a new Summer Solstice Remembrance Evening in its garden next week.

The Summer Solstice occurs on Wednesday, June 21, marking the astronomical first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere when the earth's axis is tilted at its closest point from the sun.

To celebrate the occasion, Trinity will open the doors to its award-winning gardens on Clapham Common North Side.

Explaining the reason for launching the event, Trinity said: "Our beautiful garden shines in the summer. It is a wonderful place to come together to remember the people who brought colour to your life.

"This will be an evening for our entire community to enjoy music and refreshments, a moment of remembrance and ribbon dedications in memory of someone special."

Alongside the Summer Solstice evening, Trinity is encouraging the dedication of a Summer Ribbon in honour of people who have brought colour to our lives.

A selection of colours are available to choose from and once dedicated will be on display in the Trinity gardens until the end of June.
