First Glimpse: The Georgian, Clapham

Offering traditional, delicious home-cooked Georgian food to Clapham is the second branch of south west London restaurant The Georgian.

The Georgian opened at 102-104 Clapham High Street in November, having served high-quality food to residents down the road in Balham for the last ten years.

Traditional Georgian dishes on the menu include Borsch, traditional cabbage and beetroot soup, Ajabsandali, a hot pot of aubergine, red peppers, onion and herbs, Chakhokhabili, chicken in a rich tomato salad with herbs, and Soko Ketsdze, slowly cooked mushrooms with garlic and coriander.

A quirky miscellany of dainty ceramic plates, colourful wicker baskets and re-purposed wooden crates lend The Georgian its laid-back, 'home-from-home' atmosphere.

Coupled with the sunlight which – thanks to vast windows – pours throughout the entire restaurant, The Georgian is up there as one of the best spots to grab lunch in Clapham.

Grab one of those window seats to watch the world go by in Clapham as you eat a truly delicious meal.
