It has been confirmed that Krispy Kreme will be opening a shop in Clapham Junction.

The American doughnut giant will be opening opposite Boots and TK Maxx on St John's Road.

Battersea Beat confirmed the addition via their Instagram page.

While some locals appeared thrilled at the prospect others were disappointed.

One wrote: "Still hoping for an independent shop of some kind. Not excited by a shop encouraging addition to fats and sugar. A new independent bookshop would be welcome."

While others agreed with the commenters concern about encouraging unhealthy eating.

Another commented: "Obesity crisis in Battersea causes concern."

While another said: "Bit disappointed tbh, Clapham Junction is full of coffee shops, bakeries, pastry shops and supermarkets."

But many were more excited at the news, one person said: "Aww, I can't wait" and a second said: "Oooh yummy"

A date has not been confirmed for the opening yet.
