Detectives are appealing for information and dash-cam footage after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Lambeth.

Police were called at 20:15hrs on Thursday (May 11) to reports of a car and a motorcycle colliding in Leigham Court Road, SW16.

Officers attended with London Ambulance Service [LAS] and London's Air Ambulance [HEMS].

At the scene a male motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, had been involved in a collision and had sustained serious injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers know his identity and have informed his next of kin.

Detective Sergeant Nick Bale of the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:"A blue BMW was abandoned at the scene of the collision and we believe that three occupants of that vehicle fled the scene on foot.

"I urge anyone who has information concerning the identity of those involved to get in touch. Similarly, if you were in the car, please make yourself known to us.

"This collision resulted in a man's death and a family is now struggling to come to terms with their loss. Our thoughts are with them."

At this early stage there have been no arrests. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage can call the Incident Room on 020 8285 1574, call 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 7533/11MAY.
