Summer concerts return to the Clapham Common Bandstand this weekend with a varied programme of music for the community to enjoy.

From Saturday (June 10) until Saturday (July 29), the bandstand will stage performers of all music genres, from classical, pop, and rock, to Afro-Cuban, hip hop and funk.

Clapham Common Bandstand faithful Graham Pike Big Band is first in the line up, with fellow returning acts set to follow in subsequent weeks including Brass United Social Club (a seventeen-piece band 'blaring out pop classics and party bangers'), Tequila Brass (applying Mexican and Spanish influences to a playlist of American songs), and Putney & Wimbledon Brass Band (performing ahead of the National Brass Band Championship in September, in which they are a finalist).

Making their Bandstand debuts this year is The Jumpstart, described as a "razor-sharp musical unit delivering authentic ska music", and Hootini Brass Band, a nine piece upbeat outfit that performs their own music alongside hip hop, funk, and drum and bass classics.

Concerts, which are all free to attend due to funding from a Lambeth Council grant and made possible with technical support supplied by Clapham's Omnibus Theatre, begin at 2pm and end at 4pm.
