Wandsworth and Lambeth both see Covid-19 rates rise over 30 per cent

Coronavirus infections have increased 35% in Wandsworth and 31% in Lambeth, reveals the latest data.

Covid-19 case rates published this afternoon show that in the last week (November 10 – November 16), there have been 1,040 people with coronavirus in Wandsworth – 270 more people than the week leading up to November 10.

In Lambeth, data published today for the same period reveals 796 people in the borough have Covid-19 – 187 more than the week leading up to November 10.

Coronavirus cases in Clapham vary from ward to ward, with the latest week-view data available relating to November 5 – November 11 incomparable to borough-wide statistics.

Clapham South recorded the biggest increase in cases over that seven-day period, after 19 people in the Wandsworth ward tested positive for coronavirus.

Clapham North within Lambeth Borough saw its case rate fall 33% on the previous week, with only 12 people who tested positive.

Coronavirus Deaths in Lambeth and Wandsworth

Over the last six months, Lambeth has rarely seen more than three people a week die within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus.

Wandsworth shows a similar picture, with the most death certificates to mention COVID-19 as one of the causes of death peaking in early September at five.

Vaccination Uptake in Lambeth

In Lambeth, 58% of people aged over 12 have received both COVID-19 vaccination doses.

Of adult age categories, the lowest vaccination uptakes in Lambeth are in the 18-24 cohort where 56% of people have received a coronavirus vaccination, and the 35-39 age group where 57.5% of people have had a COVID-19 vaccination.

Vaccination Uptake in Wandsworth

In Wandsworth, 62% of people aged over 12 have received both COVID-19 vaccination doses.

The age cohorts with the lowest vaccination uptakes in Wandsworth are 35-39 and 40-44, with 60% of people in their late thirties who have received a dose and 61% of people in their early forties.
