Wayne Couzens appeared in court yesterday charged with four counts of indecent exposure.

Couzens, 49, has been accused of exposing himself four times in the Swanley area of Kent between January and February 2021, while he was a serving Met Police officer.

The charges state he allegedly "intentionally exposed his genitals intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm and distress".

Appearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court, Couzens requested a trial by jury at crown court and did not indicate a plea.

The former Met Police officer is currently serving a whole life sentence for the kidnap, rape and murder of Sarah Everard in March 2021.

He is next due to appear at the Old Bailey on May 11.
