Events coming up in Clapham
Thursday: Sankofa
Weaving together live music, storytelling, and traditional pottery, Sankofa is a semi-autobiographical show about legacy, heritage, and what it means to belong as part of the African diaspora.
Nicole's grand-uncle was a playwright who shaped the landscape of Ghanaian theatre. Nicole doesn't know this. She also writes plays, thousands of miles away in London.
Discovering her grand-uncle's work sets Nicole on a journey to learn more about her lineage. Touring her own work around Europe, Nicole will have to learn what it truly means to go back into the past in order to move forward into the future.
Friday: Live Music: Fresh Arms and Yell-Low
On Friday find Fresh Arms on stage at The Bread & Roses Pub.
The local Clapham indie rock band have been smashing out early-2000 indie rock bangers together since their serendipitous meeting at an unruly house party in Brixton.
Supporting them at 8:45pm is Yell-Low, a pop-rock project with a wide range of influences from David Bowie to Balthazar and everything in between.
Saturday: Trade

Part of the Vault Festival Transfer Season at Omnibus Theatre, this world premiere of a bold, gripping play takes us inside the European sex-trafficking industry, told through the eyes of a young woman as she attempts to find a place in a world she never asked to be a part of.
