A police investigation is underway following a fatal stabbing in Lambeth.

Police were called shortly before 6pm on Saturday (April 15) to reports of a stabbing in Norwood Road.

Emergency services responded and found a man inside a shop suffering from stab wounds.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man, believed to be aged 20, died at the scene.

Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased and are working to inform his next of kin.

No arrests have been made at this early stage.

A crime scene is in place and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

A Section 60 Order granting police additional stop and search powers has been authorised for the entirety of the borough of Lambeth from 19:00hrs until 07:00hrs on Sunday, 16 April.
