Lambeth may not be a participant in the electric scooter scheme launched in six London boroughs last month, but the London Fire Brigade still have their work cut out for them in Clapham thanks to incidents caused by electric vehicles.

A recent spate of fires caused by e-vehicle batteries – including one at a flat in Clapham – has prompted the London Fire Brigade's Fire Investigation team to issue an urgent safety reminder to members of the public with e-scooters or electric bikes.

Wandsworth Council will carry out repairs on St John's Hill Bridge for ten weeks in a project to start on Monday (June 28), on the same day Transport for London (Tfl) begin a separate project at the Lavender Hill / Elspeth Road / Latchmere Road junction.

Tfl have warned the works on Lavender Hill are likely to last until October 4 with parts of the junction closed for resurfacing works in mid-September.

The Eden Nature Garden in Clapham has launched a fundraising campaign to urgently repair its wildlife pond, currently being drained of water by the ancient Oak tree nearby.

Clapham has few secrets so well kept as the Eden Nature Garden. Adjacent to St Paul's Churchyard, Eden Nature Garden is a haven of tranquillity, having been transformed in 2000 from disused church land running alongside Matrimony Place.
