Get on board the 154 bus with Will for a riotous journey through his final year of school in South London suburbia, as he navigates his changing sense of self and identity.
It's 2014, and seventeen-year-old Will is meant to be having the time of his life – he's smart, funny and not bad looking, but the world feels suffocating and he actually has no clue what is going on.
Condoms on bananas, the 154 bus, boobs or bum, beer, Morley's, raspberry flavoured vodka, wanking, parties, kissing girls, fancying boys, muffin tops, curry nights and teachers, Shakespeare, friendship, love, family, hope, nostalgia and trousers that don't quite fit you.
Walking the tight rope between what-once-was and what-now-is, Will plays his part in this modern survival of the fittest to not only survive but ultimately thrive.
Loosely inspired by Khalil Gibran's The Prophet, Ankle Swingers is a warm and uplifting show about the nostalgia for and of youth, as sweet-teenage-innocence is swamped by scary-bitter-adulthood.
