Beast or God

Beast or god is a physical solo show about loneliness and motherhood. Erika Eva's piece tells a story of a single mom having a night for herself after putting her toddler to bed. The mother's emotions travel from loneliness to the sense of triumph during one night as Erika Eva brings the yearning and sacrifices to the stage without dialogue.

Sound designer Xavier Velastín uses Erika's toddler's music in the design. The three-year-old Adrian likes playing music and his voice is also heard in the piece.

Erika Eva is a physical performer and theatre director based in Finland. She holds an MA in Theatre Directing from East 15 Acting School and since 2017 she has led her own theatre company, Ekata Theatre, which has produced visual, relevant and physical theatre in London and Helsinki.
