An Al Fresco forecast for Clapham this weekend

After a prolonged period of miserable weather, something that looks a little more like summer is finally set to arrive this weekend.

While temperatures will still be more Clapham, South London than Corfu, Greek Island, the fact the forecast is a downpour, thunderstorm and forecast-free zone seems something to celebrate given the weather we've been having lately.

Here is what the Met Office predicts for the rest of the week.

Friday August 13

Dry start to the day with sunny spells. Areas of thicker cloud then developing, spreading east late morning and afternoon. The odd spot of rain or drizzle developing, mainly in the west. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Saturday August 14

Anyone up at 05:44 will have a clear view of the sun before clouds take hold by late morning. The temperature will linger around 22 °C but thanks to a lighter breeze it should feel that slight bit warmer.

Sunday August 15

Sunny intervals by lunchtime are due to last right through to evening. With highs of 22 °C and slim chance of rain, we reckon Sunday's the best day to risk shorts and t-shirts.
