Smoking cables discovered in the Clapham Yard train depot have blocked all South Western Railway lines, with disrupted and cancelled services expected until the end of today (Tuesday June 6).

No South Western Railway (SWR) trains can leave Clapham Junction station due to a fault in the power supply at the Clapham Junction SWR yard.

South Western Railway is not optimistic about normal services resuming any time soon.

Clapham Nub News first learned of a problem at the depot when South Western Railway under its Twitter handle, @SW_Help, broke the news around 8.50am.

They said: "We've been advised that due to a problem in the depot at Clapham Yard all lines are blocked.

"Train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

While normal services were initially expected to resume at 9.00am, customers have since been informed that train services running through Clapham Junction will be cancelled, delayed or revised until the end of the day.

Routes on Suburban Lines, South Western Mainline, West of England and South Hampshire Locals are the worst affected.
