Local homeless charity is appealing for donations of female products
Local Clapham charity Ace of Clubs has appealed for donations of hygiene products, deodorant and underwear to its centre on Saint Alphonsus Road.
For 25 years Ace of Clubs has supported homeless, vulnerable and otherwise marginalised people in the local community, with its "one-stop shop" open access service in Clapham offering hot meals, a food bank, showers, a clothing and toiletries bank, a laundry service, a needle exchange, education and training facilities, one-on-one case-working, weekend vet services, and a monthly NHS dental service and nurse.
Its appeal for donations at 10.00am today (Thursday September 9) followed support Ace of Clubs tried to give a woman who recently became homeless.
The charity said: "The other day we provided support to one of our female guests. She is street homeless again.
"She requested a clean pair of underwear. We looked through our cabinets and did not find her size. We would be grateful for women's underwear, hygiene products and deodorant."
Ace of Clubs is open between 12:00-2.00pm Monday to Friday. Find the centre on Saint Alphonsus Road, a short walk from Clapham Common tube station.
