In pictures: Clapham Common trees toppled by Eunice

At least nine trees on Clapham Common have been felled by Storm Eunice.

Lambeth parks team is working hard to clear trees blocking paths on the Common and roads around north Clapham, while Wandsworth tackles trees uprooted in Battersea, Balham and south Clapham.

A tree planting project spearheaded by The Friends of Clapham Common was undertaken at the end of last year in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and her hope for trees to be planted.

Between October and December volunteers planted more than 50 trees across the Common - a huge feat that may somewhat mitigate the loss of mature trees in Clapham today.
