The Yard in Clapham has permanently closed

The Yard is the latest of Clapham's venues to close its doors for good.

Nestled in Clapham's Old Town, The Yard originally replaced Jam Tree and continued to boast weekly DJs, big screen sporting events while making the most of the bar's vast garden.

Its closure follows that of neighbouring pub The Rectory. On its website, The Yard thanked its customers for all their support over the years.

"It's been a pleasure serving you," they said.

Replacing The Yard this Autumn is MEATliquor. A cult destination for burger enthusiasts, the London-born restaurant chain has not confirmed when it will open in Clapham Old Town, except for a loose commitment on Instagram to "sometime" in September.

It said: "As long as we don't get let down by supply chain, deliveries, Covid, manufacturing, plague of locusts."

As always, Clapham Nub News will keep you posted.
