Delays to train services are expected until at least 4pm today following a fire next to the track at Clapham Junction.

A fire has broken out at Clapham Junction less than two weeks after the London Fire Brigade were called to a train on fire at platform 15.

Passengers at Clapham Junction or travelling through the station today (Wednesday June 23) can expect disrupted services until at least 4pm after a fire broke out next to a track at the station.

Clapham Nub News learned of the incident when SWR Help broke the news on Twitter around 1.30pm.

They said: "We've been advised of a fire next to the track at Clapham Junction.

"Trains may be delayed or revised because of this problem."

National Rail logged the incident and signalling issues in the Clapham Junction area at 1.32pm and advised customers that trains could be cancelled, delayed or revised.

A spokesperson for National Rail said: "A fire next to the track and a fault with the signalling system in the Clapham Junction area is causing disruption at this station."

"Services are being diverted to Battersea Park, and will not run between Queenstown Road and Clapham Junction."
