Clapham Breakfast Briefing: Weather, travel and traffic updates
Clapham Breakfast Briefing: Friday, October 1
Clapham Breakfast Briefing is a daily column dedicated to morning 'must-knows' from around town and other useful tid bits: weather, traffic, travel and trivia news in a nutshell.
Clapham weather forecast
Best not to leave home without a coat today. Though it is hard to imagine given the blue skies we woke up to in Clapham, widespread showers are forecast to fall throughout the day.
Showers may be heavy at times, and there is a chance of hail as well as a low risk of thunder. The heaviest rainfall is expected this evening around 7:00pm.
While this rainfall should be interspersed with pockets of sun, with the wind picking up this afternoon there will be a chill in the air.

Clapham Traffic
An accident on Balham Hill has closed the A24 in both directions from Clapham South station to Cathles Road (the Shell garage), causing queuing traffic and creating congestion on Alderbrook Road.
There are delays of one minute on The Avenue (A205) travelling westbound, with an average speed of ten mph.
Clapham Common North Side is particularly congested around Eaton House (westbound).
Clapham Junction
Overrunning engineering works near Kensington Olympia means trains are unable to run between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction. Until 10:00am trains between these stations will be cancelled.
Due to a number of incidents today between Clapham Junction and Milton Keynes Central, fewer trains are able to run on all lines. Trains to and from these stations will be reduced until 12:30.
The Northern Line
There is a good service currently operating on the Northern Line and indeed, all underground lines.
