Clapham Breakfast Briefing: Weather, travel and traffic updates
Clapham Breakfast Briefing: Friday, October 1
Clapham Breakfast Briefing is a daily column dedicated to morning 'must-knows' from around town and other useful tid bits: weather, traffic, travel and trivia news in a nutshell.
Clapham weather forecast
Heavy rain in the night has left its mark, with severe train delays caused by flooding. Not that you'd known from the dry, bright sky overhead and gentle Autumnal chill in the air.
Turning cloudier as the day wears on, that acceptable chill will turn colder as strengthening winds arrive from the west.
Enjoy the sun until midday and don't worry if you forget your umbrella in the afternoon - the clouds, though gathering, should stay in the sky.

Fact of the day
Holy Trinity Church on Clapham Common opened as the new Parish Church of Clapham in 1776, the same year as the American Declaration of Independence. The previous Parish Church of Clapham was over in Rectory Grove - St Paul's Church - but had grown too small to serve what by the mid-eighteenth century had become one of the fastest growing villages around London.
