Lambeth residents who should have their bins collected on Christmas Day and New Year's Day will have them picked up a day later.

Those due to have their bins picked up on December 25 will instead have them picked up on Boxing Day (December 26).

Residents whose bin collection day falls on January 1 will have them picked up by the council on January 2 instead.

Bin collections for the remainder of the festive period will not change.

The Lambeth Council website reads: "Our collections do not change on most bank holidays.

"If your collection day is Christmas Day and New Year's Day, we will collect the day after instead."

Lambeth Council normally collects bins and clears streets of litter at the same time.

According to the council's website, weekly collections include: "black bins or sacks for rubbish, green bins or recycling sacks for recycling, food waste for most houses and maisonettes."

Collections also include: "garden waste if you've signed up for this service, bulky waste if you've paid for a collection, electrical waste for most houses and maisonettes."

Lambeth residents must leave their bins out by 6am on collection day, unless they have a timed collection.

Bins which are not left at the front of a property or are overfilled will not be collected by the council.
