Clapham Spotted: Ducklings in Eagle Pond

During her morning lap of Clapham Common last week, Julie Anderson happened upon a group of six ducklings on what was probably their first ever paddle.

Julie, an author and local resident, diverted from her usual route around the Common "so as to see the irises on Eagle Pond". As an added bonus, she caught the delightful sight of a mother duck leading her newborn ducklings.

Speaking to a local resident and regular bird-watcher at the pond who had arrived at the scene earlier that morning, Julie learned the mother duck had not been seen for days.

Julie told Nub News: "Until this morning, when she appeared on the pond with six little ducks and father duck".

If you happen to spot the ducklings while out on Clapham Common, make sure to let Clapham Nub News know !
