Twickenham: Local student's shock after being left comatose in spiking attack
A 20-year-old university student from Richmond borough has released shocking video footage showing how she was left virtually comatose after her drink was spiked.
Illana El-baz was targeted at a nightclub in Bristol just three weeks ago and appears to be among a growing number of young women targeted in this way.
The video footage, which was taken by her boyfriend, shows her lying semi-paralysed on a staircase after she was taken home.
In the full recording, the University of Bristol undergraduate can be seen struggling to get up the stairs, her eyes rolling as her head falls into the handrail.
Coalville: Police uncover £800,000 Coalville cannabis factory with 900 plants as part of 'County Lines' operation
A 'large' cannabis factory with plants valued at £800,000 was discovered by police at a property in Coalville.
A warrant was executed as part of Leicestershire Police targeting 'county lines' drug dealing.
A property in London Road was raised on Monday, October 11. Two men were charged and another arrested but later released. Police described the Coalville find as 'the most notable' of their enforcement week across the county.Glastonbury: Glastonbury firefighters help rescue five cavers who got trapped by floodwater on the Mendip Hills
Firefighters from Glastonbury helped to rescue five young adult cavers who had a lucky escape in the early hours of this morning (October 21) when they became trapped underground due to floodwater at Eastwater Cavern in Priddy. Cave rescue teams and the police were already in attendance when Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was requested just after 1.15am to assist them with pumping water out of the cave system and allow for the safe extrication of the trapped cavers.Porthleven: Porthleven memorial to remember Dambusters hero Guy Gibson
A short service was held in Cornwall on Tuesday (October 19th) to remember the 77th anniversary of the death of Second World War hero Wing Commander Guy Gibson. In 1943, he led 617 Squadron on the famous Dambusters Raid – one of the squadrons which today flies the UK's F35B Lightning Jets. Wing Commander Gibson had close family links to the village of Porthleven. His mother was one of the Strike family and he spent time there on leave during the war. He was killed in action in 1944.Crewe: Wybunbury man killed businessman after pub pursuit
A MAN from Wybunbury has been found guilty of the manslaughter of a businessman following a retrial. Samuel Thorpe, 26, of Annions Lane was found guilty of the manslaughter of Adam Lovatt today (Friday) after a 10-day trial at Liverpool Crown Court. The incident happened in the early hours of May 25, 2018 outside the Bridge Inn on Shropshire Street in Audlem. Mr Lovatt had spent the evening celebrating his 45th birthday with his wife at the Lord Combermere pub and went to the Shroppie Fly, on Audlem Wharf, while his wife went home. At the pub another man in the bar tried to assault him before pub-goers intervened. He left the pub but was pursued by Thorpe and Hill. Thorpe confronted Mr Lovatt outside the Bridge Inn, punching him once to the face. He fell backwards, striking his head on the ground suffering two skull fractures and a large bleed on the brain.
