Police officers are appealing for the public's help to trace a tipper truck that rammed into a police car in Clapham on Friday.

The incident took place in Landor Road at 10.50am on Friday April 15 when officers in a marked police car indicated for a yellow and black Ford Transit tipper truck to stop.

Instead, the driver of the truck reversed at speed into the bonnet of the police car.

One officer was taken to hospital to receive treatment for head injuries.

Paramedics attended to the second officer at the scene.

The truck has not since been located and an investigation is ongoing to track it down.

It is yellow and black in colour with a damaged mirror on the side. The registration is believed to be FA04 UZW although the F is missing from the rear number plate.

Anyone who sees the truck is asked to call 999.

Members of the public with other information about those currently in control of the truck, or its recent whereabouts, should call 101 and give the reference 2376/15APR.
