Local elections: Final deadline for proxy vote applications is fast approaching

By Isabel Millett 22nd Apr 2022

The deadline to apply for a postal vote in the upcoming local elections has passed.

But if you are unable to attend your polling station on May 5, there is still time to apply for a vote by proxy.

To nominate a person of your choice to vote on your behalf, simply download and complete the application form at your local authority's website.

In Clapham, this will be either Wandsworth Council or Lambeth Council

Borough of Wandsworth Proxy Vote

Completed application forms can then be:

·      Returned as a scanned attachment to [email protected]

·      Sent by post

·      Delivered in person to the Customer Centre at the Town Hall

The address to return proxy vote applications by post is: Electoral Services, Wandsworth Council, Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW12 2PU

Borough of Lambeth Proxy Vote

Completed application forms need to be returned via the purple Submit a proxy vote application form button on Lambeth Council's website.

Proxy vote applications must reach the local authority by 5pm on Tuesday, April 26.

Voters who requested a postal vote are advised to keep an eye out for their postal vote pack to arrive.
