London bus driver strikes: all you need to know

Londoners face severe disruption to bus services from Monday (March 28) as drivers employed by Arriva have confirmed strike action.

The strikes, which come hot on the heels of tube and rail strikes in London, are in response to a 1.5% pay rise Arriva offered to drivers, dubbed "pathetic" and "an insult to bus drivers" by Unite general secretary Sharon Graham.

More than 1,000 drivers who are members of Unite are employed at depots in Brixton, Croydon, Norwood and Thornton Heath.

A 24 hour strike they were set to stage this week was suspended amid last minute negotiations, but there has been no indication the second stage of strikes will not go ahead.

London Bus Strikes: What days are affected?
