Man dies on Clapham Common

A man has died on Clapham Common

An investigation has been launched following the death of a man on Clapham Common this morning.

A man was found unconscious near Holy Trinity Church shortly after 6am today (Tuesday, February 22).

Emergency services attended but the London Ambulance Service were unable to resuscitate him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police investigation is now underway with the death currently being treated as unexplained.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "Officers were called at 6.07am on Tuesday February 22 to Old Town End, Clapham Common.

"A man, believed to be aged in his 60s, had been found collapsed by a member of the public. Officers and LAS attended, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clapham Town Police have been approached for comment.
