Nando's in Clapham forced to shut amid chicken shortage

Nando's has shut 45 restaurants including its store in Clapham due to a chicken shortage.

The chicken chain said it was forced to close sites due to staffing shortages at supplies and reduced numbers of lorry drivers.

Nando's in Clapham, Balham and less local London branches in Southwark Arches and the O2 in Greenwich are all shut due to the shortages.

Deliveroo shows there are no Nando's restaurants accepting orders currently. In a statement placed on the Deliveroo Website, Nando's said: "We're really sorry, we've had to temporarily hit pause on delivery in England, Scotland and Wales but we're working hard to get things back up and running. Please keep an eye out for updates as we'll be back online soon."

Nando's also tweeted saying: "The UK supply chain is having a bit of a 'mare right now. This is having a knock-on effect with some of our restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales."

All closed Nando's restaurants across the UK are predicted to re-open on Saturday. Clapham Nub News will keep you up to speed on how your local Nando's gets on with securing more chicken.
