Teenage boy arrested after 13-year-old boy stabbed in Wandsworth

A teenage boy has been arrested after a 13-year-old was stabbed in Wandsworth on Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Cortis Road, Putney, at around 6.30 pm, two days after a man was stabbed on Cedars Road in Clapham.

A crime scene was established and a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody on suspicion of the attack.

In a short statement posted on Facebook yesterday, a spokesperson for Wandsworth Met police confirmed the victim was found suffering from a stab wound which a south London hospital assessed as non-fatal.

"We were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 18:34hrs on Saturday, 12 June to reports of an injured male on Cortis Road, SW15.

"A crime scene has been established on Westleigh Avenue.

"One person has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm".

In an update on Twitter, a spokesperson for Wandsworth Met Police confirmed the suspect arrested is a teenager.

"The 14-year-old male arrested remains in custody.

"Thankfully the victim's physical injuries have been assessed as superficial".
