Thursday, March 23: Flamenco Express
Flamenco Express returns to The Landor with an extra-large handful of raw, heart-wrenching flamenco – with 'sizzling soloist' La Joaquina, guitar virtuoso Chris Clavo, the massive vocal presence of Antonio El Pola; plus the power and grace of Victor Fernandez, hot from the hottest Madrid stages.
Thursday, March 23: David Butt Philip & Friends Gala
St Paul's patron - affectionally known as DBP – returns on Thursday 23rd March, this time to sing with three other colleagues from the world of opera, with two equally talented pianists to provide elegant accompaniment for the evening.
Until March 25: Follow the Lines
"I look up and there's this steam of sweat dripping from the ceiling onto my face and it's so warm, fresh from the mashed skins moving to every second of the beat."
Follow The Lines explores the world of Chloe, a gay woman in her mid-30s who spends her weekends partying. Unable to accept responsibility and face 'the real world' Chloe continues to follow the rabbit hole, until life starts to take its toll. Whilst she boasts about wanting to be a writer, Chloe also craves finding love for the first time and struggles with her sexuality. Soon she realises that her choices could jeopardise her future.
The Bread and Roses Theatre Company present this delayed coming-of-age one woman show about feeling lost while the world races by, facing your fears and acceptance. Mixed with fast paced comedy, UK Garage and intimate storytelling.
Until March 31: Hedda Gabler
The honeymoon is over, and Hedda is feeling trapped. Reared in privilege as the daughter of the great General Gabler, she has married somewhat beneath her station into the 'genteel poverty' offered by her husband, George Tesman, a well-meaning and industrious academic, who is doing all he can to meet her every whim. It is not enough. Her needs are deeper. And darker.
Even as she struggles to restrain herself from acting on wild impulses, she begins to crave the fatal power to mold someone else's destiny. That someone else turns out to be the only one in the world that Hedda might in fact love. Will Hedda awaken a sense of empathy before things go too far? Can she find meaning in a life so filled with limitations?
