Parents of children in Wandsworth who receive free school meal vouchers will be given an additional £10 during the Easter holiday period.
Wandsworth Council confirmed families eligible for free school meal support can expect to receive vouchers for food when the school term ends for Easter.
In an additional boost, the value of free school meal vouchers paid during the two-week holiday will increase to £20 per week, up from the £15 usually given during school holidays.
Vouchers, which will be automatically sent to eligible recipients by email or text message, can be exchanged for food at the supermarket of their choice.
The popular Wandsworth Connected scheme, also known as the Easter HAF programme, will also be running as usual to provide children eligible for school meal support with free-of-charge fun activities and a nutritious lunch during the holiday.
Run in partnership with more than 30 local clubs and organisations, art, cookery, music, sport and trips are among activities the programme offers children.
Kate Stock, Wandsworth Council cabinet member for children, said: "We know many families are struggling financially, but by increasing the value of free school meal vouchers and running our popular Wandsworth Connected scheme we can make sure all children get nutritious meals and make some fun memories this Easter. If you are eligible find out what's on offer and sign up."
