Thursday, April 27: Freshly Squeezed
Back for another Flat 4 Theatre's Freshly Squeezed Scratch Night!
A zesty night of new writing, celebrating some of the best up and coming talent in London.
Friday, April 28: Live Music - Barefoot Bandit
The Barefoot Bandit are a heavy-weight ensemble based in the South-West, UK. The band mixes various musical styles, incorporating elements of reggae, punk rock, dub and world music.
Building a strong and loyal fan base, TBB have spread their sounds far and wide. Packed out shows at prestigious venues such as the Electric Ballroom in Camden have seen The Barefoot Bandit become a must watch act on the UK touring and festival circuit.
The group released their much-anticipated debut album at the end of 2022 to much acclaim, with their cover of Groove Armarda's "By the River" getting multiple plays on BBC6. The 16 date "Hello Welcome" tour supports this release in 2023, ahead of UK and international festival dates.
Free entry to The Bread & Roses in Clapham to hear them play on Friday.
Until Saturday, April 29: Can't Pay? Won't Pay!
Can't Pay? Won't Pay!' is a classic political farce by Nobel Prize-winning playwright Dario Fo. This fast-paced comedy, set in a working class suburb of Milan in Italy in the 70s, centers on economic crisis and rising prices, creating parallels with the current cost of living crisis in the UK and around the world.
With absurd plot twists, witty dialogue, and flavours of classic 70s era British comedy, tríada theatre company has produced a thrilling play about unpaid bills, household crises, marital meltdowns, and relationships.
Saturday, April 29: Mod N Soul - Northern Soul DJ Night
Brendan regularly DJ's at Northern Soul nights around London but his very own baby is his popular ModnSoul night that has been running for over 7 years and it's about time that he takes it out on the road to the Bread and Roses!
ModnSoul as the name suggests is soul music with some modernist grooves. Brendan will get you shuffling your feet and shaking your hips to Northern Soul, Motown, Soul and Mod classics as well as a few modern soulful bangers too!
