Clapham Old Town: Remnants of The Rectory up for grabs

By Isabel Millett 11th Aug 2021

The Rectory relics are up for grabs in Clapham

The Rectory pub in Clapham Old Town has closed and is now giving away furniture, glassware and various trinkets to the local community - all for FREE.

Clapham Nub News was sad to announce last month that local pub The Rectory was set to permanently close.

The silver lining for local patrons is that now The Rectory is officially closed, it is having a huge giveaway of items from furniture to glassware, and other miscellaneous trinkets that regulars to the pub will no doubt recognise.

Whether there was nothing you loved more than to while away a Sunday afternoon with a burger from its 'secret' menu and a pint of pale ale, or your dining table was simply on its last leg three years ago, there is something for everyone to take home and give a new lease of life to.

Plus, if there were easy actions the U.N. climate panel's report, released on Monday (August 9), indicated we as consumers could all too easily incorporate into our lives, minimising waste and reusing products instead of buying new ones were high up the list. Have all the furniture your need but know a friend moving home next week? Why not share this article with them and help get their kitchen kitted out?

On Instagram, The Rectory wrote: "Hi lovely locals!

"The Rectory is now officially closed for refurbishment so if you would like a little piece of history we have lots of furniture, glassware and trinkets that we are giving away for free so come and grab it while you can!

Lots of love forever Team Rec."

Clapham Nub News will miss you, The Rectory!
