Clapham Junction: No step-free access at Platforms 13 and 14
Maintenance work to upgrade lifts for Platforms 13 and 14 at Clapham Junction station begin today (Monday, November 15).
The lift closures are part of a six month project will ensure every platform at the station has a reliable lift, following a high number of faults and failures that have limited step-free access to and from Clapham Junction.
Each lift is being worked on one at a time, meaning the works will only affect passengers on certain routes for a limited period of time during the full six months.
Maintenance work to lifts for Platforms 13 and 14 begins today and is scheduled to last twelve days, allowing step-free access to resume on Friday, November 26.
Step-free access at Grant Road has now resumed.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "The much-needed work will improve reliability for passengers for years to come.
"Work will start on Monday 18 October, and to minimise the impact on passengers, only one lift will be out of service at a time.
"The works are expected to be completed by Friday 25 March 2022.
Passengers who require step-free access at Clapham Junction can contact South Western Railway's 24 hour dedicated assisted travel team on 0800 5282 100.
