Clapham Junction: Trains delayed and cancelled after night of heavy rain
Heavy rain fell across the UK on Wednesday evening and into the early hours of this morning (Thursday, October 21) following a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office.
While Clapham avoided repeating scenes in July where heavy rain flooded roads around town, the severe weather has resulted in train delays and cancellations for passengers travelling through Clapham Junction.
Disruption between Clapham Junction / London Euston and Milton Keynes
Trains running between Clapham Junction and Milton Keynes may be cancelled or delayed due to overhead electric wires being damaged in the severe weather.
Disruption is expected until 3.00pm.
A spokesperson for National Rail said: "Most Southern services have been cancelled on the route between Shepherds Bush, Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central.
"We expect this to affect trains until mid-afternoon today, 21 October.
"Some shuttle train services will run between Clapham Junction and Shepherds Bush."
Disruption to London Waterloo and London Victoria
Passengers at Clapham Junction are likely to see a reduced train service to London following heavy rain flooding the railway for South Western Railway services between Exeter St David's and London Waterloo.
Disruption is expected until 4.00pm.
A spokesperson for National Rail said: "A band of strong winds and heavy rain moved across the South West of England yesterday, resulting in some lines being blocked.
"Trains between Exeter St Davids and Taunton / Salisbury continue to be significantly affected this morning. "Trains between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised."
