The new family run grocery store on Landor Road

We're very excited to introduce CoCoMeloN, a new independent grocery store on Landor Road.

With a craft beer shop on Lavender Hill, an 80s themed cocktail bar on Battersea Rise and further towards the Common, Aussie-themed café, Brickwood, all opened in recent weeks, Clapham is growing replete with new, exciting businesses to visit.

Dilan Gokcan teamed up with her cousin Gokhan Aram to open the second CoCoMeloN outlet in south London (their first venture is on Wandsworth Bridge Road).

"It's a lovely neighbourhood, a very different side of London," Dilan told Clapham Nub News. "Gokhan found Landor Road and when I saw it I thought, 'Okay this is perfect, I love it, let's go for it.'"

Dilan, 26, is passionate about stocking top-quality fresh produce. Based on the range of both fresh food and store cupboard ingredients at CoCoMeloN, she is a fiend at finding it, too.

Previously home to the pet shop Archie & Agnes (phew that Pets at Home is to open in Clapham South), Dilan and Gokhan, 35, embarked on extensive refurbishment work, doing it all themselves and recycling as much as possible of what was already in the shop.

"We sanded down the woods, varnished them and then re-used them. We only took about two bin bags out of the store," said Dilan, who was quick to pass praise at the shop's refurbishment onto Gokhan.

If happiness could be a colour, the lemon-yellow façade CoCoMeloN has bestowed upon Clapham would be high on our list of contenders to win the word – and along with warm and welcoming, happiness is the overarching impression CoCoMeloN leaves a sense of.

Having opened at the end of summer, more is yet to come from CoCoMeloN, says Dilan. "We'll be adding a fresh smoothie and juices board that people can access throughout the day. And there's going to be fresh bowls and salads and sandwiches made."

In short, if Wholefoods (pre-Amazon) and a fruit market on a remote, idyllic beach had a love child, this shop would be their offspring. And we're here for it.
