The Rectory in Clapham Old Town becoming new pub the Pig's Head

The Rectory in Clapham Old Town has been taken over by the young couple behind London's Noble Inns group of pubs and restaurants.

Maria and Scott Hunter have proven they have a knack for turning dilapidated London boozers into profitable destinations.

Having sold their previous businesses – which include the Princess of Shoreditch, the Pig & Butcher Islington and Smokehouse restaurants – the husband and wife under their new umbrella venture, Antidote Projects, are transforming The Rectory into new pub the Pig's Head.

With its prime location a stone's throw away from Clapham Common, the 87 Rectory Grove site drew the eye of many a savvy investor following The Rectory's announcement in July that it would soon permanently close.

To open the Pig's Head the Hunters will be partnering with their former Pig & Butcher colleagues Michael Chan and Jack Ross, who will head up the kitchen and front of house respectively.

Word on the street is this, their first Antidotes Projects venue, will have sustainable credentials and be ready to open its doors to Clapham on November 8.
