Union Street Yoga leaves Lavender Hill

The spate of shop closures across Clapham continues, with Union Street Yoga the latest local business to leave Lavender Hill.

Like so many towns both around the UK, as well as more locally across London, Clapham has seen a number of its tenants vacate prime High Street premises.

After The Rectory pub in Clapham Old Town closed its next-door neighbour The Yard quickly followed suit. Meanwhile over in Clapham Junction,

L'Occitane en Provence permanently closed its branch on St John's Road, which nearby camping and equipment brand, Blacks Outdoors, and the barber shop, Jacks of London had already departed.

The latest business to leave Clapham in the wake of pandemic restrictions having eased is now Union Street Yoga.

Union Street Yoga was a popular spot for Clapham's contingency of yogis to practice their Shavasanas before the pandemic. While they are still in business on an online-only basis, they were unable to agree a new lease on the premises and will not be bringing classes back to Lavender Hill.

Refurbishments have been underway and in good news for our lycra-wearing local residents the space will still be used for fitness purposes, with a gym called Iron Bodyfit set to move in.

Iron Bodyfit specialises in wellness studios using electrostimulation and according to its Facebook page helps clients achieve their goals through personalised coaching.
